Scuba diving in Waikiki: questions before you dive

Can I scuba dive in Oahu without being certified or knowing how to swim?

Yes. Our Beginner Discover Scuba tour is made for people who have never dived, and no swimming experience is needed. You get a short lesson, then dive to a maximum of 40 ft with a PADI instructor right beside you.

How much does scuba diving in Waikiki cost?

Our Beginner Discover Scuba 2-tank boat dive starts at $249.99 per person, and certified 2-tank reef charters start at $237.49. Check the tour cards above for current sale prices, and call or text 808-348-6645 for a group or private quote.

What will I see scuba diving in Waikiki?

Green sea turtles (honu), moray eels, octopus, reef fish and, on deeper dives, the Sea Tiger and YO-257 shipwrecks with eagle rays and whitetip reef sharks. Dolphins sometimes swim by the boat.

What is the minimum age to scuba dive?

Divers must be at least 10 years old for Discover Scuba and the PADI Open Water course. Younger kids and non-divers can join our snorkeling and whale watching tours.

How many divers are in a group?

Just 1–4 participants per Instructor/guide, compared with 6–10 or more at most larger dive shops. Private 1-on-1 tours and private guides/instructors are also available.

Where do tours depart?

We meet at 1125 Ala Moana Blvd, Honolulu, HI 96815, a short drive from Waikiki hotels. You'll get exact meeting details when you book.

What's included in the price?

Your guide and tanks are always included. While our 20% OFF promotion runs (through Nov 30), all rental gear is also included at no extra charge: BCD, regulator, wetsuit, mask, fins and weights. Bring a swimsuit, towel and reef-safe sunscreen.

How long does PADI certification take in Hawaii?

Our PADI Open Water course takes 2 days, and so does Advanced Open Water. Do both with the combo starting at $999.99.

When is whale watching season on Oahu?

Humpback whales visit Hawaii roughly December through April, with the most sightings January to March.

Can friends who don't dive come on the boat?

Yes. Non-divers can ride along to snorkel or relax on deck. Ask us when you book.

Do you offer scuba diving in Spanish?

Yes. Lessons, PADI courses and guided dives are available in English or Spanish. Sí, ofrecemos clases y buceo guiado en español.

What if the weather is bad?

Safety comes first. If conditions aren't safe we'll reschedule you or move to a sheltered site. The YO-257 wreck trip is weather dependent.
